Solution:

How do you divide a 97 mm long line in 7 equal parts?

Procedure:

Draw a 97 mm long line and name it AB.
Draw another line from point A. Make sure that the angle between the 2 lines must be less than 90 degrees.
Take a compass and mark 7 equal parts on the inclined line. Name those points 1', 2', 3',...,7'.
Now draw a line B7' and with the help of a roller scale draw the remaining 6 lines parallel to line B7'.
Mark the points on line AB.
Name those points 1, 2, 3,..., 6.
Show the necessary dimensions.
